5 Ways to use Water Beads with Babies and Young Toddlers
There are so many fun activities that the littles get left out of because either it takes constant monitoring or the toys can be a choking hazards. When talking with parents about these water beads many of their concerns were if they were safe for younger kids, babies and young toddlers, who end up putting everything in their mouth. This is where this post comes in handy! They don’t have to be left out of the amazingness that is water beads… with a little modification, they are good to go!
Sometimes you just can’t wait for your child like a hawk…and these great ways to use water beads will have your kids entertained but not in danger of choking.
My son loves the water! He loves swimming, bath time and outside water tables. The thing is, we don’t always have time to do a complete change of clothes, prep, and then clean up. That takes time and effort I don’t always have! Which is one reason why I fell in love with these water beads! There are so many usages for them, while some are easier than others. They are all super fun and will keep the kids entertained and happy for many minutes to come! Which means one happy mommy.

1.Water Beads in a Ziplock Baggie
Put some water beads in a zip lock bag, any size will work, and duck tape up the zipper part to prevent little hands from taking out.
- Car Rides
- Tape completely to table for pre-dinner fun!
- Tape to the window. The added light will create a beautiful play time activity.
- Take out to eat for unplugged fun while waiting for food to arrive.

2.Sensory Water Bead Bottle
Sensory bottles are a great way to let babies and toddlers explore water beads safely.
3. Water bead window play
With this, you use the duck taped plastic bag that was number one on the list, and you tape the whole thing to a window that the child can get to. The light coming in from the window makes a beautiful, movable artwork that will keep your child entertain! This is the perfect little activity to do while you are making dinner or trying to clean. Fast, easy, and safe!
4. Calm Down Jar
Just add the water beads and baby oil to create these beautiful calm-down jars. I am going to be using a cheaper water bottle, maybe Fuji water, and duck tape the top to add a safety feature. If you can afford these 8 dollar bottles go ahead because they sure are pretty. I am all about the cheapest way to give my children learning experiences.
I am thinking of getting some of these to try as well because my dogs keep eating them. Looked up if this would harm them and it won’t unless they eat a lot of them.
These actually take the same amount of time to prep, but a little more work. The extra time is worth it to keep littles and my fur babies safe from hazards. This momma won’t have to hover!
